El primer día en Sevilla

I have now been up for 30 hours with a few tiny naps here and there on the plane rides. On top of the jet lag, I have also been punched in the face with Spanish. But not the Spanish that I was taught in school, Andalucían Spanish. Here the pronunciation is different and the form of vosotros is used, which all of my teachers in high school told me I was never going to use. Well...guess what? I am using it now (or at least trying haha).
I am feeling a lot of things right now, but I am too tired to really feel them in their entirety.
1) Excited! I am feeling excited about my new life here en los Remedios (as seen in photo above). Today my roommates and I just stood on the balcony and peered down to the busy street center. This photo however was taken during siesta when all of the stores were closed down. Once 5 o'clock hits, families and friends fill the street. They wander up and down the street, they sip their coffee and smoke a cigarette, or they meet up with their elderly parents to enjoy the sunshine together on a bench. The dynamic here is totally different from what I am used to. The people aren't in a rush to get anywhere, they just live entirely in the moment.
2) Scared. I am scared because I have very limited knowledge and foresight into the future. Usually during the beginning of the school year I have at least some expectations and knowledge of what is going to go down. Here, I have no idea what tomorrow holds, and I just have to accept that and embrace that to the best of my ability.
3) Relieved. Although I am only on my first day of being in Spain, I feel that my heart if full and content. My two roommates are amazing, the family I am staying with is incredibly sweet and helpful, and the trip has gone a whole lot smoother than I thought it would. I can now take a deep sigh and head to bed.
¡Buenas Noches!
